▌Artwork Introduction

Wang Te-Yu, No. 84, Fabric, fans; dimensions variable, 2016

WANG Te-Yu’s air-filled, balloon-like large-scale installation is constructed with soft, monochromatic fabric. Her work investigates the potentiality of space, and questions the existential state and meaning of “human” in space. Through her work, audience is provided with an opportunity to perceive the interrelation among the work, the environment and themselves through direct and intuitive bodily senses instead of simply through existing, predetermined visual experiences. Through the rhythm of movement and breathing, and in between fluidity and stillness, her work engages the audience in re-perceiving the space and re-defining the fleeting moments of now.
