Luxury Logico x Taishin Bank Foundation for Arts and Culture

Since 2010, Taishin Bank Foundation for Arts and Culture has been promoting “project-oriented” exhibition programmes. Through various discussions with artists, the foundation's active participation and the support to aid artists' art practice, the foundation could therefore create connections with contemporary art production.
We will fly no matter what is an exhibition originating from the foundation's new exhibition programme.
Regardless of the means of participation, levels and forms of support from the foundation, the scales of the artwork, and the potential of its future development, the artists will all present their breakthrough in this exhibition. This exhibition was proposed by Luxury Logico, a hybridized interdisciplinary group that employs “care” and “hybrid”, two concepts that they have always been concerned about, to create a handmade bird model. Via a three-dimensional flying image that was produced by computer programme, they came up with 36000 images of birds with monocolour line that could wander between little children. By using innocent and simple messages, together with an immense group responsive power, Luxury Logico brought up the possible aesthetic issue that may occur in different regions and societies.
The first stage of this exhibition requires 36000 pieces of the drawing that will be made by 36000 elementary school students. The team named, “The Weather Group”, is formed by Luxury Logico’s artistic team and Taishin Bank Foundation for Arts and Culture. They began the project on 11th of April 2011, and went into elementary schools all over Taiwan, five days a week, with the “flight speed” of one to three schools a day. Regardless of the weather, they teach, and collect imaginative drawings from children. After realising the project in four elementary schools on Lanyu Island, this stage has come to an end and we are grateful for all the enthusiastic teachers and students who had participated in this project. From 11th of April to 17th of June, “The Weather Group” has flown through 101 elementary schools, and has collected 12,000 pieces of children's drawings. “The Weather Group” will continue to fly and move forward to more schools!
Luxury Logico
Luxury Logico is formed by CHEN Chih-Chien, LIN Kun-Ying, CHANG Keng-Hau, and CHANG Geng-Hwa, four of them were all born in the 80s. Before their formation, they worked separately; one was “Logico”, another one was formed by CHANG Keng-Hau and CHANG Geng-Hwa. The two groups were formed based on the common concept of “hybrid and interdisciplinary forms”. Individually speaking, the two have their own specialization in terms of concept, machinery, programme, and installations, but they are both well known in new media and visual art field. Their creative form and collaborative partners are very diverse. Their recent works include “Bacterial Battling”, “Dot．Dot．Dot”, and stage design for HORSE theatre's production, “Faceless”.
