The 9th Taishin Arts Award - Side Project

The Taishin Bank Foundation for Arts and Cultures is pleased to bring the the 9th Taishin Arts Award Exhibition before the public. In conjunction with Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts as the main venue for the exhibition, the nominated art works will also be presented at Taishin Tower in Taipei City, curated and arranged by professors and students of the Tamkang University Department of Architecture through their re-interpretation of the fifteen selected works from which they, by transforming the works into architectural elements, construct a spatial dialogue between the art works and the exhibition space of Taishin Tower to usher the audience to an alternative viewing experience distinct from traditional mode of art exhibitions.
Accompanying the exhibition at Taishin Tower, documents of nominated art works of the 9th Taishin Arts Award will be exhibited to provide visual materials for further exploration to the selected art works, simultaneously at Nanhai Galley and MoCA Studio, Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei.
The Tamkang University Department of Architecture
The Department of Architecture aims to cultivate students to acquire the ability to consider and examine the essence of human life and the patterns of human behavior, the ability to deploy environmental analysis and site planing, while incorporating the the concepts and disciplines of humanity, technology, and aesthetics into their architectural design. Within 5 years of rigorous trainings and practices, the programs in the department prepare the the ground for students with substantial knowledge and skills to succeed in the professional fields of architecture as well as prepare the way of analytical thinking for students to advance to the higher educations and researches of architecture at the academy.
