Jury’s Comments for the Performing Arts Award

The production has its core idea developed conceptually, a breakthrough from the common narrative way in the dancing art.  Through the seamlessly arranged elements, the production integrates the concept and the body movement, as well as the abstract and the concrete.  The creator's talent is manifested, unleashing the imagination while sustaining the artistry.  The whole production appears to be very delicate, sheer, and brilliant in a contemporary style.  Although its structure needs to be improved, the production provides an inspiration for the possible definition and path of the dancing art in the future.(Committee member/ Tzi-mu TSOU)

About the Artist

Horse Dance Theatre was founded in December 2004 by five young men who shared a love for dance and choreography. Their original name was M Dans, and they changed their name to Horse in 2007 as it best reflected the dancers' energetic levels and passionate performances.

Horse is the only all male dance troupe in Taiwan and their choreography is influenced by male bodies in the urban space. Even though the company is fairly new, they are becoming successfully known for their unique and contemporary work. Their repertoire includes works by Taiwanese choreographers and international artists.
