With a bold modern approach, Don Giovanni by the National Symphony Orchestra proved to be a smooth and integrated performance due to the harmonious working of many elements under the cooperation of Stan Lai, the director, and Wen-Pin Chien, the conductor and music director. The local vocalists equable and outstanding performances more than anything rendered explicitly the many complicated pieces of ensemble singing in this opera.
