Nirvana:Solo Exhibition by Tung-Lu Hung

Tung-Lu Hung

Comments on the Finalist

With a collection of works in full presentation and a personal style in full scope, this exhibition opens up its possibility of mass production and reveals the consuming culture and aesthetic direction of the new generation.

The creation of Ruby, the leading role in the Nirvana series, directs the artist's approach toward original plastic creation instead of reproduction from commodity replicas. Establishing his originality in the digital world, the artist advances himself into a new phase of creation.

Via animation and video art, Hung makes up a whole set of Ruby's personal backgrounds with deliberate installation. Despite of its virtual origin, this work offers an alternative but solid experience of Nirvana in senses in half an hour

Artwork Introduction

All of this exhibition's works were new, the subject is "Nirvana", .quote from the meaning of to depart from the body and sensorial, a extremely ingenious limits, a unconventional vibration that unable to explain but only could experience. I try to combined the digital images, animation, interact flash, 3D objects and techno music to display the exhibition. From hippy to raver, cannabis to e, love, peace to PLUR, the Lost Generation became thr Generation Ecstasy at once. I also try to explore the drug culture(also could said Ecstasy politics), thereby to drag out the line between body, identification, ego and sub-culture.
