Puccini : Tosca
National Symphony Orchestra
Comments on the Finalist
It’s a refreshing attempt to place singers and the orchestra on the stage together and perform in the form of “semi-opera.”
As the director of Puccini: Tosca, the renowned choreographer Lin Huai-Ming endows this performance with a strong sense of rhythm and a clear sense of space.
Transplantation of its background of time and space retains the pleasure of opera appreciation for our audience with limited use of settings, lighting and costume.
Generously and sophisticatedly as well, Conductor Chien Wen-Pin uses a grand orchestra to achieve splendid and luxurious effects on the stage, and transforms a production with limited budget to a sumptuous feast in astonishment.
