Final Selection

In order to select works that can complete in a world arena, the Taishin Foundation invites international professionals to join local jurors in the final selection. Jury of the perfoming and visual arts each select one winner from the finalists of each category. The entire procedure is documented by video to reveal different points of view, and the compilation is released after the announcement of the winners.

Mr. Chiang is Assistant Professor at the Graduate Institute of Art History and Art Criticism at Tainan National University of the Arts, where he has taught since 2006. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Art Critique of Taiwan (ACT). His research interests include the visual culture of colonial-era Taiwan, curatorial practice in contemporary Chinese and Taiwanese art, cross-cultural comparative aesthetics between China and Taiwan, issues of visuality and subjectivity in artistic practice. His numerous books and articles, which have been translated into English and Korean, appear in overseas publications including Chung Wai Literary Monthly, Yishu: Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art and Journal of Korean Modern Art History. His recent work focuses on left-wing movements and visual documentation from the 1920s, contemporary art curation and biopolitics, and contemporary visual art and activism in East Asia.
