Final Selection

In order to select works that can complete in a world arena, the Taishin Foundation invites international professionals to join local jurors in the final selection. Jury of the perfoming and visual arts each select one winner from the finalists of each category. The entire procedure is documented by video to reveal different points of view, and the compilation is released after the announcement of the winners.

Ute Meta Bauer is Professor and Dean of Fine Art at the Royal College of Art, London. She was previously as the Director of the Visual Arts Program at the School of Architecture and Planning, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, USA, where she also served as the Founding Director of its Program in Art, Culture and Technology from 2009 to 2012. She is working as a curator of exhibitions and presentations on contemporary art, film, video, and sound, with a focus on transdisciplinary formats. Ms. Bauer was curator of The Future Archive, Berlin, 2012; Artistic Director of the 3rd Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art, Berlin, 2004; and Co-Curator of Documenta11 (2001–2002). From 2002-2005, Ms. Bauer served as Founding Director of the OCA in Oslo. She edited numerous publications as Intellectual Birdhouse: Artistic Practice as Research (co-edited with Florian Dombois, Michael Schwab, Claudia Mareis) (2012). In 2012 Ute Meta Bauer: Interviews 1992–2010, Marius Babius (eds) was published.
